(It contrasts sharply with the more\n\u201cspiritual\u201d accounts that one finds in more recent publications).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the\naccount, the author (a military man, many of the members of the early BSD were\nfrom the military) wanted to locate through dowsing, additional water supplies for\nthe city of Aden in Yemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, he\nwas a self-confessed amateur, having dowsed for just one well in his own garden\nin England.
